Summer heat got you feeling down? Come destress and join Red Rock Audubon's Morrigan DeVito for some air-conditioned mindful birding at HBVP. It's hard to spend much time outside in the summer, but that doesn't mean we are disconnected from nature. Our summer heat teaches that it's okay to slow down and reminds us that we are resilient like the desert's lifeforms. Mindfulness helps us accept the present moment without judgement and is a great tool to help us be fully engaged with our senses with openness and curiosity. At this event, we will spend a little bit of time in the shady grove outside of the visitor center to observe birds, plants, and insects. Listening to our bodies, when we get hot we'll return indoors to do some mindfulness relating to colors, shapes, and textures using plant samples and bird taxidermy displays. All are welcome regardless of birding skill-level or mindfulness experience. What will we discover together?
We will meet in the classromm at the HBVP Visitor Center.
