THE MINDFUL BIRDING PROJECT

Have you heard of mindful birding or participated in a mindful birding program? Mindful birding combines mindfulness practices with the joy of observing birds. This practice is gaining popularity due to the health benefits of slowing down and immersing yourself in nature. Mindful birding can be done almost anywhere and requires little experience and equipment for participants, making it a great way to introduce new people to the joys of being outdoors with birds! This training is for you if you want to learn how to lead a mindful birding workshop or incorporate these practices into your existing programs.

Because of the popularity of Mindful Birding at the Audubon Leadership Conference in Estes Park, CO, we’re offering this special session to Audubon chapters. Join us to learn HOW TO HOST a mindful birding experience for nature lovers in your community.

Workshop participants will leave the event with an overview of what it might look like to:

· Organize and host a mindful birding experience

· Incorporate inclusive and accessible practices into their existing programs.

· Spark and rekindle an appreciation of birds and nature in others.

Birding is for everyone!

The Fort Collins Audubon Society is running this virtual session as part of an Audubon in Action Grant to teach others how to offer mindful birding workshops.
