Mindfulness and Birding in Rocky Mountain National Park

  • Fall River Visitor's Center - Rocky Mountain National Park 3450 Fall River Road Estes Park, CO, 80517 United States (map)

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Led by Dr. Barbara Patterson

Immerse yourself in the magic and serenity of spring at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Mindful birding combines the calming effects of mindfulness practices with the joy of bird observation, making it more about being present rather than strictly identifying species. In this workshop, we will practice mindfulness techniques while learning more about birds, their curious habits, and how they inform us about the natural world. This approach helps participants pay closer attention to the sights, sounds, and movements around them, cultivating a sense of appreciation and connection to the environment.

Participants ages 16 and up.

Program level: Easy – appropriate for most participants. Expect frequent short walks with ample breaks. Participants will walk on paved or hardened surfaces with moderate slopes and occasional stairs. This program is entirely field-based.

Meet at the Fall River Visitor Center, 3450 Fall River Road, Estes Park, CO 80517. Then, in conservancy vehicles, you will travel together to various locations within RMNP. Your registration includes all required fees and permits.
