A presentation by Bird Diva, Bridget Butler at the Biggest Week in American Birding

Location: Oregon, Ohio

Bird Diva, Bridget Butler will be one of the Spolight Presentors at the Biggest Week in American Birding, May 5-14. Her presentation on Slow Birding will take place on Friday, May 12th. Registration is required for the festival and there are additional fees for presentations and field trips.

Sounds a bit strange, “slow birding”, but we can indeed slow ourselves down into this more contemplative form of birding. This mindful approach allows us to let go of listing, of the pursuit and objectification of birds, and of the competitive aspects of traditional birding. Slow Birding is a practice that builds a deeper observation of birds and wildlife while at the same time creating a deeper connection to yourself and the place you live. Bridget will share her journey into Slow Birding along with a number of exercises and tips to create your own Slow Birding practice.
