The Mindful Birding Project - Workshop

  • Richardson Bay Audubon Center 376 Greenwood Beach Road Strawberry, CA, 94920 United States (map)

Have you heard of mindful birding or participated in a mindful birding program? This practice is gaining popularity due to the health benefits of immersing yourself in nature, and the accessibility that wild birds offer to people in urban and suburban settings. This training is for you if you want to learn more about leading a mindful birding workshop or incorporate these techniques into your existing programs.

The Fort Collins Audubon Society in Colorado received an Audubon in Action Grant to teach others how to offer mindful birding workshops in their community. Along with the Mid-Atlantic Audubon and the Discovery Center, we are excited to present a unique mindful birding workshop for local Audubon chapters, environmental education and field trip leaders, other outdoor program leaders, and those interested in sharing this inclusive practice with others.

Join us to learn a variety of WAYS TO HOST a mindful birding experience for nature lovers in your community. Workshop participants will leave the event equipped to...

·       Organize and host a mindful birding program

·       Incorporate inclusive and accessible practices into their existing programs.

·       Spark and rekindle an appreciation of birds and nature in others.

No experience in mindfulness or birding is necessary to attend - mindful birding is for everyone!
